Singletons! We’ve been Christian Snobs for too long!

FEBRUARY 24, 2015

And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. (Ephesians 2:22 NIVUK)

Recently, I have been sensing in my heart that many Christian singletons are only looking to within the church walls for their partner but The Lord is saying to look to the highways and byways. The unions will come but they won’t look like what we have expected them to look like.

It is imperative to pray for courage and peace in all circumstances as The Lord is about to take people out of their stereotypes and preconceived notions of what godly relationships look like. We must step out of the comfort zone.

The Lord is highlighting the parable of the invitation to the feast. Today, many are behaving like smug Christians sitting around the table with The Lord, feeling a lot like they have made it into an exclusive club. But He is bored with their company and saddened by their attitudes and behaviour. He wants them to do as He did and get out there to seek and save the lost through the love which only comes from Him and which will change the world. This will be a huge risk and shake up but the Gospel will spread like wild fire.Pray for protection, courage, wisdom and love. Don’t you know that your eyes are the window to the soul? Be the salt and the light.

The Lord will fill you up but you must get out and bring the lost and lovely and lonely home to Jesus. Many will feel so very uncomfortable with these words but there is much relief and healing and love from heaven being poured out.

Many people will be attracted to Jesus through you. You must remain still and confident that He knows what He is doing and that His plans are for our prosperity not for harm. Quick fire results and rapid succession are here and now and are upon us in this time. The sparks will fame into flames.

Praise the LORD. Blessed are those who fear the LORD, who find great delight in his commands. Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures for ever. Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered for ever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures for ever; their horn will be lifted high in honour. The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing. (Psalm 112:1-10 NIVUK)

As we go out in the power of the spirit others are and will be attracted to us but many have ignored them as they don’t look or sound like the Christian stereotypes we are looking at as our God given partners.

The gospel must spread. Every nation and tribe and knee will bow to the name of Jesus so do not be afraid of how uncomfortable this may seem and appear to be.

I am The Lord your God. I go before you. It is my good will to give you the gifts of the kingdom. Go and make disciples of all nations and know that I am with you always and especially know that my ways are not your ways. I only ask that you believe and have faith and act courageously as you step out of your comfort zone. What father when their child asks for food gives them a scorpion…? It is the Father’s good will and intention to give His children their hearts desire and reward them for doing right.

We’ve been Christian Snobs for too long! Enough! Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost and that all may have life in all its fullness. Widen the tent pegs and step out of the comfort zones! He is with us all forever and ever! Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will a) make your path straight and b) give you your hearts desire.
